Benefice Churches

We are a rural group of five parishes, close to the medieval town of Sandwich and the seaside town of Deal, comprising distinctive church communities and congregations, but with a real desire both to work together and to grow and develop church life in each locality.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Benefice of Eastry and Woodnesborough is to encourage, support and enable the Parishes, in their local mission to proclaim the Kingdom of Christ: through fellowship and affirmation, good communication, cooperation, the sharing of resources and collaborative working.

Aims

  1. To provide opportunities for mutual support and affirmation through meeting, listening, sharing, prayer and worship
  2. To enable good communication and efficient and effective working, utilising opportunities for economies of scale
  3. To be a focus for ministry, to encourage vocations (ordained and lay), and to offer opportunities for Christian discipleship and learning
  4. To enable a sharing of human and physical resources and expertise
  5. To engage together in areas of spiritual and social concern within the local community

Update on the Rector

 Andrew is stepping back from ministry duties for an extended period due to health reasons. He is now on sick leave, and will undergo further tests in hospital. Please remember Andrew, Grace and Eden in your prayers. The Benefice team will endeavour to cover as many services as possible during Andrew’s absence, but some cancellations may be unavoidable.
